Originally part of the then Sperry Rand organisation, Wright started manufacturing weighing equipment during the late 1940’s.These weighers often fed food products into pre-made glasscene bags.

Wright developed one of the first mechanised bagmakers known as the Monobag 9/18 to form and fill bags from pre-printed rolls of heat sealable films such as cellophane or polypropylene. These machines were generally fed by the companies own weighing scales.

Most people working in the food processing industry at the time had seen a Wright Monobag and many of today’s food companies built their production volumes based on the capabilities provided by that machine.  The machines were reliable, easy-to-use and long lasting.

Our Product History

Our product range expanded to include snack food processing equipment as the complexity of feeding large numbers of packaging stations with different flavours of the same product became ever greater.

Wright led the industry by developing electromagnetically powered vibratory conveyors with a feed-back loop to ensure constant product speed irrespective of load, no drive maintenance and greatly reduced power consumption.

Wright again led the industries move to “modular” systems by supplying complete pre-wired, pre-piped, pre-tested systems from 1992 on.  During 1997 the module joint positions and re-assembly of these units was optimised to allow very fast line installations and line extensions.  Some lines can be extended over a long weekend which provides further flexibility for our customers.
